Hot air can be neutralized by cold air. Likewise – a Bad seed sown can be neutralised by sowing a Good seed. (Law of Karma). We often despair by the results of our bad seeds-but life does give us opportunities to neutralize these and sow good seeds. Do we make use of these opportunities or let our discomforts and emotions rule our will?
Often we are given opportunities to do good in the form of service to our Spiritual Teacher, but owing to fear, other emotions, or some other difficulty – we feel like backing out. By doing that we tend to forget the great blessings that have been bestowed on us by our Spiritual Teacher. On the other hand, if we are able to transcend these emotions – we can manifest goodness towards others, help ourselves (by law of Karma) and show Gratitude to our Spiritual Teacher.
To grow, we need both the Yin and the Yang. By Not Doing anything Bad or Wrong – we practice Passive Goodness. By Doing Good – we practice Active Goodness. The latter may be more difficult than the former –as it needs the “The Will to Do Good”- but that is an effective way of neutralizing the bad seeds sown and thanking our Teacher.
