Where would I like to be?

How can we know what is the best possible thought, emotion, action in a given situation?  That is karmically you are sowing the correct seed of the highest order in the correct soil. In order to determine that we must answer three questions:

Would it result in loving kindness, non-injury and generosity towards the self?

Is it at the expense of others?

Does it help others grow?

If the answer to the first is ‘yes’ and the second is ‘no’ it is a fair decision. If the answer to the third question is also ‘yes’ then this is the correct seed of the highest order in the correct soil. In time this person’s future will become secure.
