When confronted with difficult and painful situations in life, often the first thought that comes to mind is ‘why is this happening to me’. E.g. if someone dear doesn’t call for a long time, we find a host of external circumstances to blame for this situation and end up feeling hopeless and angry.
Taking the above example, maybe that person has not called or met us because of a variety of circumstances preventing them from being able to do so be it an accident, having problems of their own to deal etc. – none of which has anything to do with us.
Instead of allowing the negative thoughts and emotions that consume us if we simply practice understanding and bless the other person with love, not only will we remain calm and generate good karma but will also help to solve the problems the other person may be going through.
Think about what life would be without pain – how will we grow and evolve as people? Each time we are confronted with such a situation if we understand that pain is the greatest ‘teacher’ we will not only learn the lesson we have to learn but also reach the ‘ultimate goal’ faster.
